After a frustrating winter where I was unable to do much performing - other than with my power-trio bar band called 'Uncle Rico' - I've decided to shoot a comedy special this fall. I'm not sure how I will find the cash for the event, but I know that I will. I've written some great material and am excited to do 60 to 90 minutes by myself. I read a great tip a while back that said, "you never know when comedy inspiration will come or when funny events will happen to you, always have a notebook". I've tried to do that and have found a substantial reward in doing so. I plan to cover several topics for the show; The first moon landing, Al Qaeda pornography, Pharmacy funnies, Stephen the Apostle and Joe Conforte. My main objective is to have a working product to which I can sell access online or produce DVDs for distribution. In addition, I'm excited to have some of my writing and comedy performance as part of my acting reel and to use as a marketing tool to try to book corporate and club comedy shows. We'll see how it goes. The next few months I will be trying to perform at as high a frequency as possible to prepare.
